Emergency Services (Call 911)

The Winsted Fire Department operates a First Responder Service, responding to all medical emergencies within our coverage area. The department operates with state certified Emergency Medical Technicians, and certified First Responders.

Ridgeview Ambulance Service of Waconia operates a Basic Life Support (BLS) unit stationed in Winsted. For any emergency call, an Advanced Life Support (ALS) is also dispatched to be ready if needed.

When a 911 call is made, both the BLS ambulance from Winsted and an Advanced Life Support (ALS) unit from a nearby community are dispatched. The actual transportation is then handled by the unit most appropriate for the nature of the call.
