Winsted is a town of many diverse celebrations from festivals to concerts to parades.
It has been said time and again in the community that volunteers are the backbone of these activities and events. Winsted is fortunate to have such dedicated volunteers who coordinate the year-round festivities.
Summer Festival
This year’s Summer Festival will take place Friday through Sunday, Aug. 8-10.
The festival offers something for everyone from children’s games, bands, and contests, to good food and beverage.
One of the most popular events on the docket for the festival is the grand parade. It is at this summer festival that Winsted royalty is crowned.
Winsted Summer Festival was once called Legion Days because the American Legion Post 407 organized the event originally.
Winter Festival
Winter months usher in the Winsted Winter Festival. This festival is full of lighted decor of all kinds.
Among many different events, working miniature train displays, and a lighted night parade are featured during the winter festival.
Almost every week throughout the year you can find dinners, school happenings, and social gatherings.
Not just any town can boast a fly-in chili feed but that’s just what occurs every January at Winsted’s Municipal Airport.
There is an annual Easter egg hunt that is sponsored by the Winsted Area Chamber of Commerce.
A patriotic Memorial Day observance occurs at the Martin Krueger Legion Post 407.
